About TheDogBowl
TheDogBowl is an independent app studio in the UK, making Android games and apps: quick, feel-good games you can pick up in seconds, and simple everyday apps that just work.
Our story
We started TheDogBowl with a simple idea: an app should be fun or useful from the first tap. No long tutorials, no sign-ups, and nothing that gets in your way.
Our first game, Orbit Rush, was built exactly that way: one thumb, quick runs, and a Daily Challenge that gives you a reason to come back tomorrow. Lapper followed, and then Backsies, our first everyday app. Everything we make is tested by real people before launch, and we keep improving it based on what they tell us.
What we care about
- Easy from the first tap. Our games and apps are simple to pick up, with no tutorials to sit through.
- Respect for your privacy. No accounts or sign-ins, and what you save stays on your device.
- Always improving. We read every message and keep updating our games and apps based on your feedback.
Our games and apps
Orbit Rush: a one-thumb arcade game about leaping between glowing orbits, dodging hazards and chaining gems for combos.
Lapper: a one-thumb arcade game set in a late-night neon bar, where you toss treats to hungry dogs and send them home happy.
Backsies: a receipt scanner and returns reminder app that tells you before return windows and warranties run out. Everything stays on your phone.
More games and apps are on the way.
Helping other developers
Getting a new app onto Google Play isn’t easy. New developers need 12 testers using their app for 14 days before they can publish, and we found out the hard way how tricky that is.
So we built Tester Groups: a free community where indie developers test each other’s apps properly, with a small task every day and real feedback at the end.
